When the clocks go back, you know autumn is finally here. It’s my favourite time of year – cosy nights in, comfort food, fallen leaves, walks on the beach – bliss ! Here’s a few of my favourite things for those cosy autum nights :-

As you may recall from the posts we did on Kirstie’s Homemade Home series, we bought the pattern for the cute knitted doorstop from The Wool Sanctuary. My mother in law (Betty) has now finally finished it (bless her, she has so much knitting to do for Kitty and Polly in the run up to Christmas) and here it is ! We absolutely love it….

Here at Kitty and Polly we do a lot of online networking and we’ve recently met a lovely lady called Tola who runs Chocolat a Toi selling personalised chocolate gifts for any event. Here’s a few words from Tola about her online shop….

Why did you start Chocolat A Toi?
I first thought of starting Chocolat A Toi in 2006 when my brother was getting married. I was looking for something different that would match their wedding theme colours – cornflour yellow and turquoise. It was so difficult to find anyone who would create bespoke favours and when they did the price was alarming. So, I sincerely have a soft spot for ‘about to weds’. I didn’t set up though till May this year but it became hot on my burner again around October last year after I had my baby. I thought it was something I would enjoy and also give me time with my daughter.  

What’s your Unique Selling Point ?
I enjoy designing so even though I have pre-designed wrappers and ready-to-use graphics from My Little Wrapper and J.Rett, I love to create from scratch. I can offer a lot of variety. With one order of let’s say 20 bars, I can offer 5 designs or more! I worked as an editorial assistant for a while in the past, designing an in-house news bulletin so I have some graphic design experience. Our clients have the option to choose a pre-designed wrapper and also get something unique designed from scratch by us! A recent wedding we supplied for had 4 different designs made for them at no extra cost.

What do clients say about the chocolate bars?
I’ve had loads of different compliments about our chocolates. An 80 something year old chocoholic said they taste absolutely fantastic. We often get feedback in a day or two saying all that’s left are the wrappers.  People love the quality of the wrappers and tell us how others ask where they get them from. Mums say they prefer them to plastic bits that are put in goody bags at birthday parties. At present, we offer Milk chocolate in two sizes – 10g and 35g and Dark chocolate mints in 5g.
